Jay Blades' wife sobs she 'couldn't be enough' for Repair Shop star after marriage split

Jay Blades' wife sobbed as she admitted "still doesn't believe" her split from her husband is real and feels she "should be angry but is just sad".

Lisa Marie Zbozen, 43, tied the knot with the Repair Shop star, 54, in November 2022 but made a shock announcement on Thursday that their marriage was over.

Announcing their split, Lisa said she was "trying to figure out my life" as she confirmed the break-up on social media. It comes just days after Jay announced a social media hiatus following the death of his beloved uncle, who was murdered in March over a dispute with a neighbour.

Fitness instructor Lisa shared an emotional update with her followers hours after the news of their split broke. She could be heard sobbing as she recorded an emotional video, while keeping her face hidden from the camera. Lisa heartbreakingly shared she "wanted the marriage to work so much" but felt she "couldn't be enough".

She said: "Ok I am going to try this for the fortieth time without crying. So, I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has sent a message and been so nice."

Lisa struggled to hold back her tears as she continued: "I don't really, I still don't really believe that this is actually real because if you knew how much I loved my husband and how much I have tried to make this work over and over again. I just wanted it so much and I couldn't be enough. I couldn't seem to get it right ever."

Lisa thanked her 141,000 followers and added: "So here I am. Thank you everybody who has sent me things to read etc. It is really helpful because your mind wanders into memories as opposed to facts.

"And I know there are a lot of you out there who resonate with what I am going through right now and I wonder when you get to the point where you won't feel so bad about yourself.

"When you don't feel like, you just don't understand why you just weren't enough? Why everything you did just didn't seem to be enough?" In a further clip she said: "Big breaths, one day at a time right. One day at a time. It's just really sad, I should be angry but I just, I'm just sad."

Speaking on her Instagram earlier in the day, Lisa issued a message that read: "I don't know how to say this because it's still really raw. I probably should be really angry but I'm just incredibly sad about the whole thing right now. I don't think I've ever cried so much. I wanted my husband to love me and keep me safe, and I would love him right back, but it just got worse and worse, until I grabbed a bag of a few things and I just left."

Earlier this week, Jay shared the sad news that his his uncle was "murdered a few weeks ago". His uncle Richard Brathwaite, 72, was reportedly stabbed to death by a neighbour in March, amid a longstanding row over a shared alleyway on a quiet residential street.

The TV star said: "Hope you're all well. This is kind of like a public service announcement. I've just been to my uncle's funeral, he was murdered a few weeks ago. Really, super nice guy, shouldn't have happened to him, but it really affected me."

He revealed the incident had left him feeling "a little bit messed up." "So what I'm intending on doing is this... I'm coming off social media for a bit, and I'll be back in a bit. Going to go and get some therapy and just chill out", he declared, highlighting the importance of "taking stock" after recent events. In conclusion, Jay urged: "Please, take care of each other, take care of yourself, and I'll see you guys soon."
