Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and reality TV star Kristin Cavallari are getting a divorce after a decade together, the couple announced Sunday.

Both Cutler, who retired after the 2017 season, and Cavallari, known since her teenage years on MTV’s “Laguna Beach,” released the same statement on their Instagram accounts. They have three children together in Camden Jack Cutler, 7; Jaxon Wyatt Cutler, 5; and Saylor James Cutler, 4.

“We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart,” the statement read in part.

Cutler, 36, and Cavallari, 33, began dating in 2010 and were engaged the following year. They married in Nashville, where they currently reside, on June 8, 2013.

Their lives have been chronicled on E! Network’s “Very Cavallari” since July 2018 and the former quarterback quickly became a star of the show with a side not commonly seen during his NFL days. While she ran a business after his retirement, he became the stay-at-home dad with an open schedule and time to watch wildlife all day on the deer cam.

Cutler is an absolute gem with his overarching “get off my lawn” vibe toward everything. At one point, he literally got his wife’s assistants off his lawn by placing traffic cones in the driveway so they would stop parking on the grass. The employees at Cavallari’s “Uncommon James” were a constant foil for Cutler, but the relationship showed on-screen between Cutler and Cavallari was typically strong.

The two were on a vacation in the Bahamas with their kids and friends Justin Anderson and Austin “Scoot” Rhodes when the coronavirus pandemic began to flare up. They stayed on the island when quarantine protocols began to be handed down but eventually returned home two weeks ago.
