Jill Halfpenny spotted as Channel 5 drama The Feud takes over Newcastle street

Stars including Jill Halfpenny were spotted in a Newcastle street on Friday, as three houses were taken over to film new Channel 5 drama The Feud.

Details of the new series were first released last month and revealed that the six-parter will focus will on a couple who appear to live an idyllic life with their teenage daughter on Shelbury Drive, next to neighbours they consider friends. However, when they decide to add a kitchen extension to their house, relationships spin out of control as objections are raised and life-threatening secrets begin to surface.

Having been the lead star of Channel 5 thrillers The Drowning, The Holiday and The Cuckoo, Geordie star Jill is back with the broadcaster for The Feud, which has seen her shoot scenes in various locations across the North East, with her being spotted in Jarrow a few weeks ago, alongside Derry Girls star Jamie-Lee O'Donnell.

And on Friday, ChronicleLive were on the scene in Benton, as three houses in the same street were being used for the drama. Jill was seen on set and she was joined by Alex Macqueen, the actor best known for playing Neil's dad in The Inbetweeners, as well as having roles in the likes of Holby City, Doctor Who and The Durrells.

Earlier this month it was announced that The Feud cast also includes ex Emmerdale actress Amy Nuttall, Gavin and Stacey legend Larry Lamb and Coronation Street's Chris Gascoyne, months after his emotional exit from the ITV soap as Peter Barlow.
