Joe Hart eyes Celtic role after retiring but NOT in coaching as he makes vow for season end

Joe Hart is eyeing up some sort of role at Celtic after retirement - but NOT in coaching.

Approaching the end of his playing days after announcing in February that this would be his last season, the 37-year-old revealed he has held discussions with manager Brendan Rodgers about ways he can continue to help the club. But he says he's never been interested in coaching and wants his input to be in other ways.

Hart insists he has made the Northern Irishman aware he will be available to be leaned up after calling time on his illustrious 21-year senior footballing career. He relayed that to supporters on Sunday night at the An Evening With Joe Hart event at Celtic Park.

Speaking at a fan event including Celts Are Here and ACSOM, Hart explained: "I've not taken any coaching badges, that was quite a conscious decision. I know that coaching and management is ingrained in a lot of people. But for me, it doesn't necessarily do it for me. I want to help, I want to give back, but there's different ways that I can do it.

"I'll always be available to Celtic if they ever need to lean on me for anything, I've made the manager and the club aware of that. But coaching a specific team? That's not something that I'm looking to do."

Hart could sign out by winning a league and Scottish Cup double and that would take his tally since coming to Scotland to seven trophies.

Asked if he intends to go out with a bang, he added: "I'm going to try. I'm really going to leave it all on the line. That's what I've done throughout my career and sometimes it's worked, sometimes it hasn't."
