John Legend has responded to a viral tweet about a seven-month-old baby who looks exactly like the American singer.

At the weekend, Twitter user @MrMenziN shared a photo of the little boy, pointing out the resemblance between the tot and John with the caption: “Explain fam @JohnLegend”.

The resemblance between John and the baby is uncanny.

The tweet quickly went viral, being retweeted over 15,000 times in just a few days – with many people sharing photos of their own children who share an uncanny resemblance with the singer:

Now John has responded to the original tweet in the best possible way, retweeting a fan who wrote: “I think the reason all these babies look like John Legend might be that John Legend looks like a baby” and adding: “Exactly.”

Surprisingly, John’s wife Chrissy Teigen has not acknowledged the social media storm surrounding her husband, with the supermodel previously embracing a meme that swept the internet when fans pointed out the resemblance between John and animated aardvark Arthur:

It has been a good week for viral celebrity lookalikes, with the John Legend baby coming just days after another individual took to Twitter to reveal that their uncle had spent a boozy stag do in Magaluf being confused for Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman.

Last week, this Morgan Freeman lookalike went viral.

Norman, who is definitely not the Shawshank Redemption star, spent his holiday posing for selfies and treated to free drinks thanks to the confusion, with his nephew Louis admitting that the entire thing was “f*cking mad”.
