John Legend reveals Chrissy Teigen's dad is 'not doing well'

John Legend has revealed that Chrissy Teigen's dad is "not doing well" amid his hospitalisation.

The singer has given an update on his wife's father, Ron Teigen Sr, who was recently hospitalised.

In an interview with TMZ on Thursday, John explained that he and Chrissy are taking care of his father-in-law's pet parrot, Audrey, while he is in the hospital.

"(Ron) has been not doing well. And while he's in the hospital, we've been taking care of the bird," the All of Me hitmaker told the outlet. "Audrey is doing fine. She's loud sometimes, but she's a welcome addition to the house."

He added, "We're a very pet-centric family. We've got four dogs, a bearded dragon, we love the pets."

During the interview, John explained that he won't be tempted to adopt a bird of his own once his father-in-law returns from the hospital and takes Audrey home.

However, he noted that the bird "probably will outlive my father-in-law so (she) will probably come back to our house".

Chrissy has not revealed many details of her father, who is a 71-year-old electrician. However, it has been revealed previously that he lives just 10 minutes away from the couple's Beverly Hills home.

Ron and Chrissy's mother, Vilailuck 'Pepper' Teigen, divorced in 2019. Vilailuck has since moved back to her native Thailand after living with John, Chrissy and their four children for several years.
