Jonathan Ross has reportedly landed a judging role on ITV’s new talent show The Masked Singer.

According to The Sun, Ross has signed up as the lead judge of the new series, and will sit on an all-star panel.

Hosted by I’m A Celebrity’s Joel Dommett, the show, which originated from South Korea, will see the judges attempt to guess the identity of singing celebrities disguised in elaborate costumes.

The Sun quotes an industry source as saying: “Landing Jonathan is a real coup for producers. They think he’ll be hilarious fronting the panel and help make the series a success. He’s the big name they needed to get the show off the ground and encourage viewers to take it seriously.”

Back in 2008, Ross claimed he was “not a fan” of talent judging shows like Britain’s Got Talent.

Criticising the decision to bring Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden onto BGT as judges, he said: "Simon Cowell knows what he's talking about, but Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, they're just a waste.

"What's she ever done? She's been in a couple of West End shows; she's not got much going on.

"And Piers Morgan has been sculpted from lard. So I'm not a fan of those shows."

Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan and Dannii Minogue will also join Ross on the judging panel.

Recently, Lohan debuted her Australian accent as she arrived in the country to begin filming the series.

Posting a video on Instagram, she told her 7.8 million followers: “G’Day mates. I’m here in Australia”.

"It really is an incredible country. The beaches are insanely beautiful... who knows I may even look at opening a Beach Club there."

Speaking about the TV show, she said: "The show has already been a huge success and I can only imagine it will get bigger.”
