Yahoo News Jordan Peele reveals another Get Out alternate ending
We're right in the thick of awards season and one of the most pleasing – and, historically speaking, surprising – nominees is Jordan Peele's Get Out.
A horror movie dealing with issues of modern racism, it's nominated for Best Picture and Best Original screenplay with Daniel Kaluuya nominated for Best Actor and Jordan Peele for Best Director at the Oscars.
Peele revealed early on that he'd shot a different, far bleaker ending for the movie, which was included on the home ents release and which you can watch below (needless to say, SPOILERS!).
But now talking to THR, Peele revealed that there was another possible ending he was toying with – one that he never actually filmed.
"There was a while where it was more of a gated community, and we get to Chris breaking out, but right before he breaks out he meets some sort of final test that we don't know how it ends," Peele said.
"We cut to Rod a couple months later, breaking into the gated community, going down the main street and seeing Chris just looking into the reflection of a window. And he goes, 'Chris, I've been looking for you. Are you okay?' And Chris turns to him and goes, 'I assure you, I don't know who you're talking about.'"
Dark.
Peele is currently working on his next film which will be made with Universal and will begin shooting this year. Details are scarce but we know it'll be another genre movie.
"One thing I know is that this is genre; and playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun genre of intrigue is my favorite. That's my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resemble Get Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one."
