Jose Mourinho is reportedly targeting a reunion with a Manchester United player this summer.

The summer transfer window is officially open and United, along with other Premier League clubs, are able to complete deals for new signings. The Reds have already been credited with an interest in several potential new signings ahead of Erik ten Hag's third season at Old Trafford.

Rumours also continue to swirl around the future of players already at United. And some of the latest speculation has stated that Mourinho is seeking a reunion with a player he once coached at Old Trafford.

Mourinho was appointed as manager of Turkish club Fenerbahce last week. Now there are reports the former United boss wants to bring a Reds player to the Super Lig outfit.

According to Turkish news outlet Fotomac, Victor Lindelof is a target for Fenerbahce. It has been claimed that the Sweden international is wanted by Mourinho as one of his first signings since moving to Turkey.

The report claims that Fenerbahce are prepared to offer €8 million (£6.7 million) in an effort to prise Lindelof from United. It has also been stated that the Turkish club are expected to complete the transfer for the centre-back due to a good relationship between the two clubs.

Lindelof was signed by Mourinho at United in 2017 following his first season as manager at Old Trafford. The United centre-back has gone on to make 259 appearances for the club and is currently one of only three senior central defenders contracted for next season.

United have Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez at the club, with Jonny Evans out of contract this summer and it remains to be seen if an extension will be agreed. Raphael Varane is set to depart as a free agent, and United are known to be looking at signing at least one centre-back this summer before any departures are factored into the situation.
