Judy Murray Fancies Trying Her Hand At The Great British Bake Off

Judy Murray is no stranger to a competitive TV show, having popped on a pair of ballroom shoes and waltzed with Anton Du Beke on Strictly Come Dancing.

Now though, the tennis coach has revealed that she fancies a go on a show with a bit less dancing, a lot more cooking and just as much importance put on timing.

Yes, we are talking about Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood’s cake-tastic BBC show, the Great British Bake Off.

Judy spoke at Wimbledon about wanting to try her hand at baking bread, cakes and biscuits under a huge amount of pressure in the iconic Bake Off tent, which hosts a celebrity special for Comic Relief.

Talking to BANG Showbiz to promote her role as Chief Foliage Officer for Pimm’s during Wimbledon, the coach revealed: “I think that Bake Off would be quite fun, yeah, anything that is trying something new and good fun.”

Judy made it to week eight when she competed on Strictly in 2014, but admits she sadly hasn’t kept up with the dancing.

She explained: “I really enjoyed learning to dance and as a form of keeping you active and as a form of exercise - there’s nothing better than exercise to music. But my life has no routine - no week is the same as each other, so I’m unable to go to classes.

“But if I did ever get to that stage I’d like to try salsa and Zumba because I do think it’s a perfect way for keeping yourself fit and having fun at the same time.”
