Dark Universe — better known to fans as Justice League Dark — has taken another blow as director Doug Liman has left the project due to scheduling conflicts.

According to Variety, Liman will concentrate on Chaos Walking, a dystopian tale starring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland. Guillermo Del Toro was previously attached to the superhero film but left in 2015.

Warner Bros. is reportedly searching for someone else to helm the blockbuster, with The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit naming Stephen King’s IT director Andy Muschietti as a possibility.

Justice League Dark plot details remain relatively unknown, the characters who'll appear include John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan the Demon.

The report also details how the film is expected to play a major role in the DC Extended Universe, which already contains Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad, with Wonder Woman, Justice League, The Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Gotham City Sirens, Suicide Squad 2, Batgirl, and The Batman all incoming.

Liman was previously attached to direct the X-Men spin-off Gambit, and recently released the Aaron Taylor-Johnson and John Cena starring flick The Wall. The director will next release American Made, which reunites him with Tom Cruise.
