Kate Garraway 'can't believe it' as book about husband's Covid fight becomes bestseller

Kate Garraway had told of her surprise after her new book about her husband's Covid fight hit the bestseller list.

The Good Morning Britain star's husband Derek Draper spent more than a year in hospital after falling ill with coronavirus in 2020 and now needs round-the-clock care.

Garraway, who has been married to Draper since 2005, wrote about his long battle with Covid and its aftermath in The Strength Of Love, which was unveiled this month.

She has now updated fans on Instagram to share that their story has made a big splash.

Posting a clip of herself flicking through the pages, she wrote: "Wow!!! I can't believe it!!!"

The words "A top 10 bestseller!" then appeared.

Garraway, 56, then urged fans: "Please let me know if it helps you!!!!"

The TV star - who shares 17-year-old Darcey and Billy, 14 with Draper - previously told fans that the book was "tough" to write as she "had to go into some of my darkest thoughts and experiences".

But she said she also wanted it to be a positive read.

“This book is about Derek’s ongoing battle to take back control of his body and mind, the amazing people who have helped us along the way and how love in all its forms can pull you to the brink one moment, and lift you up the next," she said on social media when she announced it.

Fans flocked to congratulate the star for her "fabulous book" after she posted the update.

One called it a "wonderful read", adding: "Unfortunately my husband died in July 2020, I looked after him, it’s not easy!

"But the love like yours was always there x."

"Thank you for sharing," said someone else.

"You are so inspiring for so many people."
