Kate Garraway in hysterics over on-air 'crisis' as Good Morning Britain co-host Adil Ray intervenes

Good Morning Britain's presenter Kate Garraway found herself in a fit of giggles as she confessed to suffering a "crisis" live on air.

The TV host was presenting today's episode of the ITV news show alongside Adil Ray, covering the day's top stories in a packed programme. However, upon returning to the studio, Kate, 57, had to admit something to the viewers.

She began adjusting her hair, jokingly saying: "I was just having a hair crisis. I'm going to be honest."

Adil quickly offered his assistance, saying: "Let me just check this hair now. Yeah, it looks like it normally is."

Kate then explained why she felt the need for an impromptu on-air makeover, laughing: "People are saying my hair looks sweaty and it flustered me for a moment. But I'm back, with news and politics now."

Kate often keeps her Instagram followers updated and announced that she would be hosting Friday's GMB in a post shared the previous night. The presenter posted a brief video of herself tending to her garden, remarking: "This vine was here before we moved in and it doesn't seem to know I'm its best friend - just trying to tie it up on wires so it doesn't drive the neighbours crackers spilling over to their side.

"I love this time of year - it feels as though life is exploding all around. Flowers budding and blooming and of course the weeds too ( but then you know I love weeds - I just think of them as clues to what plants are most successful in my little plot). Just had the most incredible few hours bathing in that bursting life force - almost drowning at times! but loving it. Now to bed ! See you on @gmb tomorrow from 6am. #gardeningheals #vitaminn".
