Yahoo News Katherine Ryan admits she wasn't 'the best fit' for Gogglebox

Stand-up comedian Katherine Ryan has admitted that she and partner Bobby Kootstra might not have been ideally suited to Celebrity Gogglebox. The star revealed she hasn't got a call for the next series as yet.
The 40-year-old comic got her fans excited when she appeared alongside Kootstra as part of the Celebrity Gogglebox line-up for the fifth series in the summer of 2023.
But she told The Sun that viewers are unlikely to see the couple again as they haven't been approached to return to the cast for future series.
"I'm not sure that we were the best fit for Celebrity Gogglebox only because we were new and there are so many other families and couples on there that I don't think we were on it very much," she said.
Ryan added: "I loved being on it and I would love to be of more use on it. We haven't been asked back so far, but that's okay. Like I'm not right for everything."
She said it was "an honour to participate" as both she and Kootstra are big fans of Gogglebox, but she was disappointed with the amount of screen time they received amid the more regular pairings on the show.
"I'm wondering like, how I can be funnier," said Ryan. "You know, I'm not going to lie and pretend I didn't notice that I'm on it for like five seconds."
The first series of Celebrity Gogglebox aired in 2019 and, in the years since, duos like Ronan and Martin Kemp, and Rylan and his mother Linda, have become hugely popular.
Ryan and Kootstra can currently be seen in the new fly-on-the-wall documentary series Katherine Ryan: Parental Guidance, in which we see glimpses of her life and also follow her as she meets people with unconventional approaches to parenting.
