Controversial broadcaster Katie Hopkins won't be heard on the radio for the time being.

LBC has announced that she will leave the radio station "effective immediately" after both parties agreed to the move.

Digital Spy has reached out to LBC for comment.

Earlier this week, Katie caused a Twitter outrage with a post that referenced the Holocaust following the Manchester terror attack.

In a tweet that has since been deleted – and reposted with "true" instead of "final" – Hopkins wrote: "22 dead - number rising. Schofield. Don't you even dare. Do not be part of the problem. We need a final solution."

Since she started at LBC, there have been several petitions for the radio station to remove her, with the most recent coming after her supposed tweet about Netflix show Dear White People and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Hopkins is said to have tweeted and deleted the post: "Dear Black People. If your lives matter why do you stab and shoot each other so much."

That petition raised more than 45,000 signatures to have Katie removed from LBC, where she had a weekly show on Sunday.

Needless to say, the news that Katie has left LBC has led to some colourful reactions on Twitter from people who are fully behind the decision.

And it even prompted a big reaction in the LBC newsroom, according to one BBC reporter.
