Katie Hopkins has sparked outrage online and has been called ‘racist’ after she tweeted about the new Netflix series ‘Dear White People’ and said that black people “stab and kill each other”.
The 42-year-old TV star has courted controversy on the social media site, again, after she shared a poster for the forthcoming drama, which follows the struggle of a group of non-white students to be socially accepted at an Ivy League college in the US.

Katie seemingly took a swipe at the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement which campaigns against violence and systematic racism, when she tweeted: “Dear black people. If your lives matter why do you stab and shoot each other so much.”
The show is based on the acclaimed film of the same name, and follows the group of students at Winchester College who are faced with a landscape of cultural bias, social injustice, misguided activism and slippery politics.
Katie swiftly deleted the tweet when she was hit with a backlash from her followers with some claiming her comment was “racist”.

But it’s not the first time that she has landed in hot water on Twitter.
Last month, food blogger Jack Monroe won her libel claim against the LBC host and was awarded £24,000 after a row over two tweets.
Jack – who is also an anti-poverty campaigner – claimed her reputation suffered “serious harm” when Katie tweeted her in May 2015 and asked her if she’d “scrawled on any memorials recently” however Katie had used the blogger’s Twitter handle in a case of mistaken identity.
And she triggered a huge backlash after she claimed Londoners were cowering in fear following the horrific terror attack that claimed four lives on Westminster bridge and was even shut down by her colleague and Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan for her comments.
