JK Rowling slams Katie Hopkins amid twitter rant about '26000' UK immigrants

Yesterday, Katie Hopkins sparked a huge backlash after she claimed Londoners were cowering in fear following the horrific terror attack that claimed four lives on Westminster bridge on Wednesday.

Hopkins appeared on Fox News and said people in the capital were paralysed with fear in the wake of the attack, but was swiftly shut down by her colleague and Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan for her innacurate portrayal of Londoners’ emotions and JK Rowling compared her to Nazi appeaser Joseph Kennedy, who believed Britain would lose the Second World War.

Rather than run away with her tail between her legs the acid-tongued columnist has continued to peddle her warped views on Twitter today and shared a statistic about UK immigration.

Is Hopkins on a secret mission to tear the UK apart?

However, people on the micro blogging site weren’t having any of it and pointed out that immigration was not the cause of the terrorist attack in the city on Wednesday.

Twitter users raged at the Daily Mail columnist.

Around 40 people were injured on Wednesday afternoon as a car mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge.

The attacker – Khalid Masood – then stabbed PC Keith Palmer, who later died of his injuries, before being shot dead by armed police near the Houses of Parliament.

It was revealed on Thursday that the Masood was, in fact, born in Kent, England.

Mum-of-two Aysha Frade and American tourist Kurt Cochran also died in the attack. A 75-year-old man who was seriously injured in the attack has died in hospital after his life support was turned off. The man has not yet been named.
