Yesterday, Price announced her dog Blade was ran over near her Sussex home to become the seventh animal to die under the ownership of the former glamour model.

In a statement, PETA Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen said: "After a seventh animal died in her custody, Katie Price should be facing more than the court of public opinion – she should face a court of law and be banned for life from keeping animals."

They added: "PETA urges authorities to look into Blade's death and reminds the public that it's not just Price who has blood on her hands."

Price expressed her upset after German shepherd Blade was killed on the A24, the second of her dogs to die on the same road.

She wrote on Instagram: "Words can't express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today. I have no words to say how I'm feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade."

A total of seven pets are believed to have died in Price's care over the last six years including five dogs, a horse and a chameleon named Marvin who she alleged died of a "broken heart".

There is also a petition circulating calling for Price to be banned from owning pets. Over 30,000 people have signed the petition which alleges various actions of neglect towards animals.

The petition alleges: "Puppies were found dead drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was run over on a motorway. Animals just go missing in her home never to been seen again. Her guard dog broke into her neighbour's garden and killed their chickens."

Price has yet to comment on the petition or PETA's statement.
