There are breaking news reports of as many as five people having been "mowed down" on Westminster Bridge, and in what police are treating as a terrorist incident, a police officer has reportedly been stabbed in the Houses of Parliament.
Commons Leader David Lidington told MPs the "alleged assailant was shot by armed police".
