Kerry Katona set for Celebrity Gogglebox stint

Kerry Katona has signed up for a stint on the Irish version of Gogglebox.

The former Atomic Kitten star, 43, will be an armchair critic on a celebrity edition of the TV show later this month.

But instead of being joined by a member of the family, she’ll be on the sofa dishing out her thoughts on the latest small screen offerings with comedian and writer Alison Spittle.

Spittle shared a snap on Instagram of the pair filming, telling her followers: “Brought @kerrykatona7 to Westmeath and all we did was watch telly.

“I adore Gogglebox, and this one is going to be wild, Oh lord!

"Some of the TV shows!!!"

"You'll just have to watch," she teased.

Fans were intrigued by the pairing and many said they would be tuning in to see Katona and Spittle.

“Oh my God!!” one posted in the comments section.

“I cannot wait.”

“Can’t wait to watch,” said someone else, while another posted: “Yaaaay!”

"Yes!! So glad you’re on it, it will be hilarious," said another fan.

“Omfg Alison get a lock of her hair for me will u,” joked someone else.

"Is this for Irish Gogglebox? Need to find a sneaky way to watch it..." another fan posted.

Virgin Media Television also shared the news, posting on Twitter: "Kerry Katona and Alison Spittle will be our next celebrity household joining us on the couch."

The episode of Celebrity Gogglebox Ireland airs on Wednesday 20 September at 9pm on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player.
