Kerry Katona has revealed her first experience of drugs was when she was given speed by her mum as a 14-year-old after being told it was sherbet.
Katona had supervised visits with her mother as a teenager while she was in the foster care system, but would often sneak out to see her outside of those times.
Speaking to Shaun Attwood and Jen Hopkins on the Warrington Podcast, Katona said it was on one of these occasions that she was first given drugs.
She said: "I snuck off to this pub to go see her, and she went to the toilet with her girlfriend Tina and I thought 'she’s been in there for ages'. I thought: 'What is she doing?'

"I went in and she had this bag of white powder and I go 'What’s that, what are you doing?'"
Katona said her mum then "put a finger in [my mouth] and rubbed it on my gums", adding: "She said it was sherbet, and it was speed".
Katona rose to fame in the late 90s as an 18-year-old with pop trio Atomic Kitten, before moving into TV work and winning I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2004.
The star said she is surprised that people link her troubles with addiction to being a part of the music industry, given she was already using drugs before then.
Katona said: "I didn’t know any different. People think I f***ed my life up because I was in the industry. I was doing drugs well before Atomic Kitten.
"But I thought it was normal. I would save up my pocket money from my foster parents to get a wrap of whizz [speed]."
Katona has now been off drugs for a number of years and has battled financial troubles, saying that at the height of her problems she "wanted to drive the car off a bridge".
Things have turned around in recent years however, with the star revealing that her saucy OnlyFans page has made her a millionaire once again.
