Kerry Katona opens up about nose op as she says she's not 'on the gear'

TV personality Kerry Katona has shared how she’s having an operation on her nose to avoid people thinking she’s “back on the gear”. The 43-year-old former Atomic Kitten is having part of her rib taken out to reconstruct her nose, which has been damaged through extensive past drug use.

Speaking to her Instagram followers Kerry said: “I'm very excited but I'm very, very nervous because I am now off to go and get my nose fixed, to get my nose operation at Pall Mall. I'll keep you posted and updated.

“As you all know I did a lot of drugs way back in the day, been clean for a million and one years now, and I have a hole in the centre of my nose. I'm always sniffing for good reasons, and I find it really embarrassing because mud sticks. Mum-of-five Kerry, who recently reunited with I'm A Celebrity co-star Katie Price, continued: “Dr. Raghavan, the amazing Dr. Raghavan, is going to take a piece of bone from my rib to place on the inside to fix it because it's slightly collapsing. The older you get, your nose starts to go like this anyway, so a lot of my cartilage is gone.”

Kerry’s operation comes after recently opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing that she now feels "more confident" in herself after previously not wanting to leave the house. Kerry said in her OK! Magazine column: "I'm down to 9st 5 and I'm feeling amazing, none of my clothes even fit me anymore! So, I've got my stylist coming this week to help me have a bit of a wardrobe revamp, which I'm looking forward to."

The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who's engaged to fitness coach Ryan Mahoney, added that she wants to sort out her clothes before moving house later this year. She said: "I want to have my wardrobe sorted out before we move house in June so that it's a fresh start, even though we're staying in the same area. Losing weight has made me so much more confident in my outfits. I still love a tracksuit, don't get me wrong, but I never used to want to go out or leave the house and now I love it."
