Just days after Liam Gallagher’s ‘biblical’ Manchester homecoming at Co-op Live, American rock band The Killers will take to the stage of the city's brand new arena. The group arrive for four nights at the Eastlands venue on Tuesday (June 18) before playing three more nights later this week.

The tour will celebrate the release of their compilation album ‘Rebel Diamonds’, encompassing the band’s 20 years of hits in a series of arena shows. It marks the band’s first time in UK arenas since 2017 as part of the 'Wonderful Wonderful' tour.

Most recently, UK fans were able to see The Killers live as part of their stadium tour, which saw them play to 400,000 fans at London’s Emirates Stadium in June 2022, and last year’s standout headline shows at Reading & Leeds Festivals.

The Las Vegas-based band will perform at Co-op Live on June 18, 19, 21 and 22 - after adding an extra date due to phenomenal demand. The band kicked off the tour in Dublin last week and will also perform in Glasgow and London.

They last performed in Manchester during a sold-out gig at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground in June 2022. That gig famously featured a moment where vocalist Brandon stopped the show to interact with a crowd surfing pensioner.

Their latest tour will celebrate some of their biggest hits, including tracks from 2004's Hot Fuss, which has sold more than seven million copies worldwide. The album has been named by NME as one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, whilst Rolling Stone has previously named it one of the Top 100 Albums of the 2000s and one of the 100 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time.

To date, The Killers have released seven studio albums with 2021’s Pressure Machine being their most recent release. The band released their compilation album Rebel Diamonds in December, and it features some of their biggest hits from across their career, including When You Were Young, All These Things That I've Done, Human and latest single Your Side of Town.

Who are the support?

It's worth getting along early as fellow indie-rock icons Travis will be playing support for The Killers. The Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, composed of Fran Healy, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop, and Neil Primrose.

The band's name comes from the character Travis Henderson - played by Harry Dean Stanton - from the film Paris, Texas. Their back catalogue spans 10 albums, including the debut 'Good Feeling', as well as 'The Man Who', 'The Invisible Band' and 'The Boy with No Name'.

Stage times:

6:30pm - doors opens
7:45pm - Travis - time TBC
9pm - The Killers

The curfew for Co-op Live varies per show. Main bowl evening events will have an 11pm curfew, unless otherwise stated by the venue.

Events in ancillary spaces may continue until 1am Sunday - Thursday, and until 2am Friday, Saturday and a Sunday before a bank holiday.
