Kim Kardashian Explains Why She Wore a Cardigan With Her transparent Corset Gown to the Met Gala

At last night’s Met Gala, Kim Kardashian arrived on the red carpet wearing an impressive silver Maison Margiela gown with a corseted bodice that tightly cinched her waist, grabbing the attention of the internet. But that wasn’t the only aspect of the reality TV star’s look that shocked viewers.

Over the top of her luxurious gown, Kardashian wore a cropped gray cardigan, which hung loosely off of her shoulders. Her casual choice of outwear left some rather confused.

Several fans believed that Kardashian must have suffered a wardrobe malfunction, and she was using the cardigan to cover up the mishap.

“This says my dress broke so I’m hiding it with my sweater,” someone commented. Another person tweeted: “Oh Kim Kardashian why [are] u holding that top please it ruined the whole dress”

Though many people had their opinions about her fashion decision, Kardashian revealed that there actually was a method behind her madness. In a red carpet interview with Vogue, she explained her vision.

“Wildest night of my life in a garden,” she said. “And I just ran out and grabbed my boyfriend’s sweater and threw it on and had to get to work, and my hair’s all messed up,” she added with a laugh.

But some viewers were just not convinced.

“I don’t buy it..something broke on her left side and she asked the car driver to pass her his sweater and she holding on to it for dear life,” a commenter wrote.
