King's birthday honours list 2024: Every Cumbrian to be recognised

As the King's official birthday, a brand new honours list has been announced.

Celebrating people and their achievements from across the board and from all different walks of life, many who have received an OBE, MBE or BEM hail from Cumbria. As the second honours list of the year, with the first announced on New Years, the list recognises achievements in all different fields, including education, tourism and community work.

In Cumbria, those recognised include Lorrayne Hughes, the CEO of Cumbria Education Trust, Richard Ogden the Chief Fire Officer at Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and James Edward Walker, the President of Cumbria Tourism.
