Kit Harington was raised in a gender-fluid environment and played with dolls
Kit Harington has revealed he was raised in a gender-fluid environment and given dolls to play with.
The 33-year-old Game Of Thrones star and his brother John’s parents were brought up by their parents, businessman Sir David Harington and playwright Deborah Jane Catesby.
Harington told The Telegraph: “I asked for a Mighty Max and she bought me a Polly Pocket. I asked for an Action Man and I got a doll – it was very gender-fluid from the word go. And I went with it.”

The actor – who checked into a rehab facility in May 2019 and reportedly treated for stress and alcohol misuse – also revealed he believes men suffer an emotional “blockage” stemming from WWII.
He said: “I feel that emotionally men have a problem, a blockage, and that blockage has come from the Second World War, passed down from grandfather to father to son.
“We do not speak about how we feel because it shows weakness, because it is not masculine. Having portrayed a man who was silent, who was heroic, I feel going forward that is a role I don’t want to play any more.”
Harington – who starred as Jon Snow in Game Of Thrones – added he does not think the world needs to see more of a “masculine role”.
