Nearly five years before O.J. Simpson's death, Kris Jenner teared up over tabloid rumors of an affair with the controversial former athlete.

During a November 2019 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jenner, 68, reacted to articles circulating about a romance between her and Simpson, who was married to Jenner’s late best friend Nicole Brown Simpson at the time. She expressed particular irritation that the rumors surfaced on the anniversary of Brown Simpson’s death.

“They printed a story that I was sleeping with O.J.,” she told daughter Khloé Kardashian. “That f---ing piece of s---. It’s really kind of pathetic that when rumors get started, the media gives it life and breath and on the anniversary of Nicole’s death. It’s so tasteless and disgusting.”

Both the Kardashians and Simpson have vehemently denied the conspiracy theory that the ex-football player was secretly Khloé’s biological father.

“After 25 years, you’d think it just wouldn’t be a thing,” Jenner said while tearing up. “It’s just lie after lie after lie after lie, and it’s only so much that one human being can take.”

Later in the episode, she revealed that she would sue the publication that printed what she called “stupid rumors of things that never really happened.”

“I just think it’s really unfair to Nicole’s family, my family, for these stupid rumors to be flying around out there,” she reasoned. “It’s always right there under the surface. My team has decided to take legal action because once and for all I have to do something about it.”

A few weeks after the rumors broke in June 2019, Simpson took to Twitter to address the theories that he fathered Khloé, which he deemed “bogus, bad, tasteless.”

"Bob Kardashian, he was like a brother to me. He was a great guy,” he began in a video. “Never — and I want to stress, never, in any shape or form — have I ever had any interest in Kris, romantically or sexually, and I never got any indication that she had any interest in me.”

Robert Kardashian Sr. was Simpson’s best friend and attorney in the infamous 1994 trial for the murder of Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. According to Kim Kardashian, Robert’s involvement in the trial, coupled with Jenner’s close friendship with Brown Simpson, caused a rift in the family.

"My mom was extremely vocal on her feelings — she believed that her friend was murdered by him and that was really traumatizing for her," Kim said to David Letterman on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. "And then we'd go to my dad's house and it was a whole other situation there."

Simpson died at age 76 of cancer on April 10, his family confirmed in a statement on X the following day.

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren," the family's statement read. "During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."
