The romance between the reality TV star and Oscar-nominated actor's has been on the radar since April 2023, but things have kicked into high gear since they were seen together at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in early September and displaying PDA at the 2023 US Open later that month.

Though they've gotten more comfortable with the visuals of their relationship (did you see Jenner's loved-up lock screen that features a snapshot of Chalamet on its background?) neither the makeup mogul nor the Call Me By Your Name actor has publicly spoken about their romance, though a source told PEOPLE that their relationship is “fun and uncomplicated."

While things continue to heat up, PEOPLE spoke with celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas, who studied both Jenner and Chalamet's birth charts to predict their overall compatibility. "They certainly have many astrological aspects in their synastry that brings romance, flirtation, passion, chemistry, and fun," he says.

However, Thomas expressed his concerns about the long-term potential of Jenner and Chalamet's relationship; despite his belief that "they both easily realize they could be a power couple," he predicts "that ultimately things are not going to match up" since they began seeing each other during both Venus and Mercury retrogrades.

"The only way they could is if they really took their time, went with the flow and 'became official' much later in the year ... at least after mid-October," Thomas suggested.

"I do think they both easily realize they could be a power couple," he added.

Jenner was born on Aug. 10, 1997 — which makes her a Leo Sun with a Scorpio Moon and Capricorn Rising. Chalamet was born on Dec. 27, 1995 — which makes him a Capricorn Sun with a Pisces Moon and a Virgo Rising.

Thomas explains to PEOPLE the significance of birth dates, particularly highlighting that their Rising signs are both Earth, which means they both "know how to work and really get down to business." Plus, "they like stability and security and know how to build it," he adds.

Chalamet's Sun is "united" with Jenner's Ascendent, which Thomas says "brings a sense of unity and understanding" which can cause them "to grow and be energized by one another." Not only does this allow them to "get along well," but he says they can "go through similar patterns and cycles simultaneously" at times too.

However, Thomas thinks the couple has the potential to "unlock some strong behaviors and reactions around control, especially with the potential for overwhelming passion, jealousy, possessiveness and manipulation."

On the plus side, their relationship has plenty of "rewarding" potential, due to the activation of Uranus, Saturn, Mars, and Pluto between them. He says they can encourage each other to "think outside the box and try new things."

Thomas says Jenner and Chalamet's romantic rapport appears "more sensual, charming and comfortable ... rather than an explosive fire," and adds that for Jenner specifically, it "could become boring" due to her Leo Sun and "thirst for adventure."

On the other hand, Thomas says it "can also provide a more stable foundation if that’s what they both desire at this point in their lives." He adds, "There is a strong sense of caring and sharing between them with an enjoyment of beauty, art, socializing, and harmony."

Based on several astrological aspects, Thomas says Jenner and Chalamet "can find their connection enlightening" because they "have similar rhythms." Jenner's Venus in an angle called a trine (denoting harmony) with Chalamet's Mercury (the planet of the mind).

Her Venus is also trine with his Mars, which Thomas says "denotes mutual gain from the relationship with a natural chemistry." Since Venus and Mars are cosmic planetary lovers, Thomas says "sparks can fly" whenever they "interplay between two people’s birth charts."

Furthermore, Jenner's Mars is linked "perfectly" with Chalamet's Jupiter, which Thomas says "can bring exuberance, optimism, and adventure to one another’s lives." For example, he says they can "open up another’s perspectives in ways they hadn’t originally known."

The pair's rapport is filled with "a lot of challenging angles," which Thomas says "can create blockages, restrictions and controlling behavior" if they aren't able to "negotiate a sense of freedom and open-mindedness."

While Thomas says that "sparks can fly" due to Jenner's Mars (the planet of anger and rage) clashing with Chalamet's Uranus (the planet of rebellion and eccentricity), he explains that "there will be an underlying current of tension that builds if one or the other is feeling controlled or manipulated in any way."

In addition, Jenner's Saturn (the planet of dominance) also clashes with Chalamet's Mars, which Thomas says "some friction about discipline, rigidity, or control" will be present as both have "strong egos."

Thomas predicts that Jenner will be "the more dominant, confident and authoritative of the two." Due to Chalamet's Virgo Rising and Pisces Moon, Thomas says he "could find this charming and hot" — but at the same time, his Capricorn Sun "could inevitably find that this pushes his buttons."

Thomas says there is "certainly a possibility of economic gain and power" for Jenner and Chalamet. Transparently, he says the stars point to their relationship being "more like a strategic power couple association to work in tandem for fun."

Ultimately, Thomas says he "does not feel they are as much of a true love soulmate connection." Although Jenner and Chalamet's Midheavens (tied to each person’s public recognition, fame and career) "interplay with one another’s charts," Thomas says that the "astrological dance taking place between them isn’t as graceful."

While Thomas says that "their life paths may be ultimately different," he says it "doesn’t mean they can’t put in the work to make it happen." However, he says "it would require a tremendous amount of compromise on both ends."

Rather, he suggests, they will "either build slowly or inevitably fizzle out organically to become friends, confidants or even business associates."
