Lady Gaga: 'Acting Has Helped Me Battle Depression'

Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, recently impressed us all when she joined scary TV show, ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ as she made the leap from singing icon to acting legend.

Now, the global superstar has admitted that being an actress has really helped her battle her demons, with the starlet taking medication for depression and anxiety for several years.

Speaking to The Sun, Lady Gaga admitted that although she still takes medication, she has been coping a lot better since she joined the hit TV show, revealing: “I’m an actress now and that helps a lot.

"I’ve tried to get off [my medication], but my doctor always tellsme not to, that it’s not safe for me.

"I’ve tried a lot of things but there is something about acting that has really helped. I’m a Stefani-Gaga hybrid and I want you to know the real me.”

Despite the show helping with her illnesses overall, Gaga also shared that when she first joined American Horror Story she was so nervous that it actually made her physically unwell.

She added: “I was very nervous. All I have is my preparation time and Jesus to save me from possibly screwing this up.

"On my first day I threw up on the way in a bag in my Rolls-Royce. I don’t know why I thought that was funny but it is funny. So after I threw up in the bag I saved it and brought it [to the set].”

Well, after bringing a bag full of vomit into work on her first day on the job, we’re not surprised that things only got better.
