A reward has been posted to try and find the man who is allegedly involved in the attempted murder of Lady Gaga's dog walker.

A $5,000 reward has been put up for James Howard Jackson after the 19-year-old escaped from jail in April due to a clerical error.

Jackson continues to evade the police and the $5,000 reward is for any information that leads to his arrest.

Jackson is one of three men charged with also stealing two of the star's French bulldogs in February 2021.

Prosecutors say Jackson and two other alleged gang members had driven around looking for expensive French bulldogs to steal on 24 February last year.

It is alleged they spotted, followed and then robbed Ryan Fischer, who was employed as the pop star's dog walker.

During the robbery, Fischer was beaten, choked and shot with the incident being captured a nearby doorbell camera.

The US Marshals said Jackson should be considered as "armed and dangerous" and urged anyone with information on the man to report it to police immediately.

At the time of the incident, Gaga praised Fischer and said: “You’re forever a hero."

The Bad Romance singer also offered a $500,000 reward for the dogs who were later returned safely.

Since then, Fischer revealed that he is now living in a van after the 'trauma' of the shooting.

On a GoFundMe page asking for donations, Fischer wrote: “With no vehicle, apartment, and having run out of savings and surviving on donations from generous loved ones, I am humbly asking for your help.”

Fischer also detailed his mental health struggles since the shooting: "At times I was scared. I was lonely. I felt abandoned and unsupported. I had long bouts of depression and doubt and self-pity."
