At least 30 reported dead in Mexico bus crash

VERACRUZ, Mexico (AP) — Officials in Mexico's Gulf coast state of Veracruz say a passenger bus has hit a truck and at least 30 people are dead.

Civil Defense emergency director Ricardo Maza Limon says the bus ran into a truck that had broken down along the road early Sunday and then burst into flames. He says the death toll may rise.

The federal highway department says the crash occurred between Isla and Cosoleacaque in the southern part of the state. The bus was en route from the Tabasco state capital of Villahermosa to Mexico City.
