At Least 6 Dead in Ecuador Flooding and Landslides

At least six people died and over a dozen were injured in central Ecuador as heavy rain caused severe flooding and landslides on Sunday, June 16.

Emergency services reported the landslides and flooding in the area of Banos, in the province of Tungurahua, where at least six died and 19 were injured.

The Ecuadorian Army assisted residents near the Chambo River, which runs through the province.
