While all the talk on the transfer merry-go-around is centred on the future of Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray, it could be Wilfried Gnonto who is the first to depart if the latest transfer report is to be believed. A report by Africa Foot says Nottingham Forest have made an official approach for Gnonto, tabling an offer of £17m for the Leeds winger.

The Italian international, who is of Ivorian heritage, is a player expected to field interest this summer having tried to force his way out of Elland Road last summer when Everton were interested in acquiring his services. While Everton are not expected to return to the table this summer having already taken Jack Harrison on loan, a number of clubs are considering an approach for Gnonto, with Forest reportedly the first to show their hand.

There has been no confirmation from Leeds or Forest that an offer has been tabled, but what is known is the player wants to play at the top level, whether that is the Premier League or Serie A. The 20-year-old put last summer's issues around trying to force an exit behind him to be a key player last season, scoring nine goals and helping Daniel Farke's side push Ipswich Town and Leicester City all the way in the title race.

With Leeds preparing to return to pre-season training, the Whites will want clarity from the player over where he sees his future as they push to avoid a repeat of last summer's mess around his refusal to play. However, it is understood that at this stage neither Gnonto or his representatives have told the club he is seeking an exit.
