Joe Rodon has emerged as one of the most sought-after transfer targets so far in English football this summer.

After his stellar season on loan with Leeds United last term, where he helped the Whites to a Championship play-off final, his future is now up in the air.

One thing he is not short of, however, is suitors. His time at Tottenham appears to be reaching the endgame now but at the time of writing three top-flight clubs in Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City are fluttering their eyelashes at the Wales centre-back, as well as Daniel Farke's Leeds, who would love to bring him back north for the 2024/25 campaign.

A price tag of around £10million has been quoted for the 26-year-old, which shouldn't be a major issue for the newly-promoted trio, who will now be dining at the top table once again next term.

The imminent appointment of Steve Cooper at the Foxes may have thrown a spanner in the works for Leeds - Cooper and Rodon worked together at Swansea City - but the Elland Road side do still hold an ace up their sleeve.

Tottenham are known admirers of Leeds youngster Archie Gray, who was outstanding last term for Farke in a number of positions.

Leeds want to keep the teenager in Yorkshire for a while yet but should he move on this summer - specifically to Spurs - the arrival of Rodon permanently would perhaps go some way to softening the blow of Gray's departure. A bargaining chip is always good to have.

Indeed former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton has already mooted a swap deal, with "big cash" also heading Leeds' way if terms could be struck between the two clubs.

“It would have to be big cash, not just Rodon, I think it would be a lot of money on top of that” he told Football Insider. “He’s had an outstanding season. The guy has played at full-back, played in midfield, played as a number 10, the list goes on.

“I think he’s only going to get better. He plays with such freedom and it’s refreshing to see. The way Ange (Postecoglou) plays, that’s perfectly suited to him. He’s comfortable coming inside and taking the ball with his back to play and getting forward with his ability to cross into the box.

“He’s so young as well. It’s going to be a big fee, but looking to the future, if they can bring someone like him in now, he could be there for years to come. That would be an brilliant signing for them.”
