Leytonstone stabbings: two men critical after being knifed in 'fight' near east London train station

Two men have been left fighting for their life in hospital after being stabbed near an east London train station.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to High Road in Leytonstone to reports of two men fighting on Wednesday evening.

Officers found a man, aged in his late 20s, suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he remained in a critical condition.

A second man, whose age was not immediately clear, later presented himself to a separate hospital. His was also in a life-threatening condition.

Scotland Yard was working to establish whether the incidents are linked.

Dramatic footage from the scene showed police vehicles lining the street near Leytonstone High Road station, which serves the Overground.

The road was sealed off while officers investigate the stabbings, which unfolded shortly before 7.50pm.

No arrests have been made.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Officers are working to establish whether these incidents are linked.

“At this early stage there have been no arrests.”
