Oasis fans knew they were in for a treat when Noel Gallagher yesterday announced he would be releasing an unheard demo he found while tidying up during lockdown. However, someone who wasn't pleased to hear the song was his younger brother and former bandmate Liam Gallagher.

"Don't Stop..." was released at midnight on Thursday but it transpired Liam, 47, did not appear on the song something he himself was disappointed to learn, as it features only Noel's vocals.

As a result he hit out at his 52-year-old sibling, with whom he has a famously tumultuous relationship with, on Twitter.

"Well there’s something missing in this god almighty stew and it’s your brother your brother don’t forget your brother La as you were LG x," he posted.

He later added in another post directed at Noel: "Oi tofu boy if your gonna release old demos make sure im singing on it and boneheads playing guitar on it if not it’s not worth a w**k as you were LG x."

Liam shared his dismay as he replied to fans on Twitter who had also expected to hear him on the track, telling one he was "well disappointed" and another that he was "all pumped up" for it.

Oasis disbanded in 2009 but the pair have been locked in a very public feud since.

In March, Liam vowed that Oasis will reunite be it with or without Noel for an NHS fundraiser in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

He later announced that he would be holding a free gig for NHS staff and careworkers at London's O2 Arena on 29 October.
