Liam Payne has hinted that he will miss his son Bear’s first birthday.

The One Direction star and girlfriend Cheryl welcomed their son in March 2017, and he's due to turn one next week.

However, speculation has grown that Payne may miss the occasion due to work commitments.

The Bedroom Floor singer posted an adorable throwback of One Direction in Japan promoting their film, This Is Us.

He captioned the image: “This time next week I’ll be on my way to Japan! I’ve got some amazing memories from Japan, can’t wait to be back #TBT.”

It is unknown whether his other half and child will be set to join him on the trip abroad.

Payne previously missed his first Father’s Day due to work-related plans.

At the time, he told MSN: “I’m actually away for Father’s Day, I’m working which is really, really sad but it’s my first one obviously so it’s amazing.

“I feel so blessed and there’s definitely going to be a lot of FaceTime that day I reckon.”

Payne nonetheless remembered to pay tribute to Cheryl on Mother’s Day last week.

He tweeted: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there and the two best mums I know my own mum and momma thanks for making the first year of my sons life incredible I’ve never seen love like this before it really is special and amazing to watch.”

News of the couple having a child was kept on quiet until Cheryl revealed she was pregnant whilst cradling her baby bump in a L’Oreal campaign.

She announced she had given birth on 25 March sharing a stunning polaroid of Payne holding their newborn son.

The Fight For This Love singer wrote: “On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream.

“Although he still doesn’t have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever.”
