Lily Allen responds to reports of losing her management with cheeky reference to topical new career

Lily Allen has shown that she’s keeping up with the news rather than dwelling on her management dropping her.

She responded to a tweet from gossip blogger Perez Hilton, sharing a story from The Sun claiming that Allen has been dropped by her management, IE: Music.

He captioned the share with “Rough couple of months for Lily Allen!”

Allen responded with: “Couldn’t be further from the truth, I gave them their notice in oct, all very amicable. And honestly, I have not been happier in years, and most importantly my kids are doing great. Don’t believe the hype pls”

Perez Hilton added: “Good!!! 🙏🙏🙏”

One follower didn’t want to let Allen off the hook quite so easily, asking: “When is your mgmt going to set the record straight on this “dropping you” thing?”

Allen replied: “Ask them @iemusic,” tagging the company’s social account into that particular conversation.

Allen went on to speculate on how newsworthy the story about her is, given the current tumultuous political climate.

Allen then turned her thoughts to other career options, and tweeted that she “Might run for MEP.”

With all the uncertainty around Brexit, it’s unclear whether Britain will continue to have representation in the European Parliament, which might put a dampener on her ambitions.

Minutes later, the singer tweeted an update with her tongue firmly in her cheek, seeming to ask if the disgraced political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica could help her win election as an MEP.

She kept up with the banter from her followers over this stream of consciousness for a while, but clearly grew weary of the attention, ending her Twitter streak with: “Someone change my password again. I can’t with this app.”
