Donald Trump updates as it happened: Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen both guilty of fraud creating political storm for the President

Donald Trump is facing a political storm after his former lawyer Michael Cohen and ex-campaign manager Paul Manafort were both found guilty of violating campaign finance laws.

Cohen, 51, admitted eight counts, including tax and bank fraud, on Tuesday night before implicating the president in a storm over “hush money” paid to women who are alleged to have had affairs with Mr Trump.

Manfort, the President’s former campaign manager, whipped up a further backlash after being found guilty of bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance violations.

Norman Eisen, a former special counsel to President Barack Obama branded the double blow the "worst hour" of Trump's presidency and added: "no, make that entire life.”
