Liverpool could finally sell 24-year-old who signed in 2018 after EIGHT different loans

Liverpool will face a decision over defender Anderson Arroyo's time at the club after the centre-back completed his EIGHTH loan spell away from Anfield.

Arroyo has had a nomadic Reds career since being signed more than six years ago, having yet to earn a work permit and thus been unable to feature for any of the Academy sides despite having been only 18 when he arrived.

Now the 24-year-old Colombian is approaching the final year of his contract having extended his deal in the summer of 2022, with the Reds having to move the player on this summer or run the risk of him leaving for nothing in 12 months.

Arroyo has spent the last three seasons in the Spanish second division, having started last term with FC Andorra before switching to Burgos midway through the season. The defender helped Alaves - who the Reds beat in the 2001 UEFA Cup final - to promotion to La Liga in 2022/23, having spent the previous campaign at Mirandes.

He went on loan to Mallorca immediately after signing for Liverpool from Colombia side Foraleza in February 2018 and spent the rest of the season featuring for their B team. He continued his development the following campaign at Gent in Belgium alongside Taiwo Awoniyi - now at Nottingham Forest - but didn't play for the senior side, and then spent 2019/20 at Mlada Boleslav in Bulgaria but only made two senior appearances.

In the 2020/21 season, Arroyo enjoyed regular minutes as a starter for Salamanca in the third tier of Spanish football. He has represented Colombia at under-17, U20 and U23 level.
