Liverpool have been informed how much they may need to pay to sign Hoffenheim star Maximilian Beier.

The Reds are yet to make any new signings this summer but that is not stopping the rumour mill from being in full swing. Arne Slot is the new head coach at Liverpool and will be spending the next couple of months assessing his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

The summer transfer window is officially open and speculation surrounding potential new signings for Liverpool are likely to ramp up over the coming months. One player to be linked with a move to Anfield is Beier.

Reports from Germany last week claimed that Liverpool were joined by Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen, Nottingham Forest and Brentford in expressing an interest in signing Beier this summer. The report claimed that it's Man United that have already made an initial approach over a potential deal for Beier, but added that the Reds are still in the running.

Now a fresh report from Italy has provided an update on interest in Beier's signature. According to Tuttomercato, Hoffenheim have stated the amount it would take for them to allow the 21-year-old to leave the club this summer.

It has been stated that Hoffenheim would seek at least €40 million (£34 million) for Beier's signature. The report also claims that Atletico Madrid have entered the race as they seek a replacement for Memphis Depay.

Beier operates as a striker for Hoffenheim, but is also capable of performing on either wing. The forward scored 16 goals with three assists for the Bundesliga club last season which has led to increased speculation surrounding his future this summer.

Liverpool have been linked with several potential new signings this summer, including a versatile forward. The Reds already have Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez who perform in similar roles to Beier, while Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are also part of the forward line.
