Jurgen Klopp is hopeful of being able to include Joel Matip in his Liverpool squad to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday .

But the German will be without the services of Dejan Lovren, who is yet to return to training after sustaining a pelvis injury during Croatia's run to the World Cup final.

Matip is on his way back to full fitness after being sent home early from the club's tour of the United States last month due to a thigh tear.

Asked for the latest team news ahead of next week's trip to the capital, Klopp said: "Dejan didn't train. I think that's it, pretty much.

"Joel is close to being back, hopefully able to be in the squad on Monday."

Long-term absentees Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster remain Liverpool's only other injury concerns, while Ragnar Klavan is in line to seal a move to Cagliari before this evening's Italian transfer deadline.
