Liverpool have been handed a number of huge transfer updates with Arne Slot hoping to welcome his first signing very soon. However, it is clear the ongoing European championships are having an impact on the transfer plans of numerous clubs for several reasons.

Firstly, some notable players are at the tournament and thus are not primarily focused on their club future but with that, chances to impress in numerous transfer auditions have arrived. Nico Williams, Xavi Simons and Jamal Musiala have all been able to showcase their ability with Liverpool linked to all three as a result.

Actually agreeing a deal for any of the trio is where the challenge arrives though with Williams just having signed a new contract at Athletic Bilbao and Simons seemingly part of Paris Saint-Germain's long-term plans. As for Musiala, the Reds will have some hope they can acquire his services after he rejected a new contract at Bayern Munich earlier this year.

Given his age and undeniable quality, the German club have set their asking price very high with £100million suggested as what would be needed for Musiala. However, everything seems to be pointing towards the 21-year-old one day returning to England after leaving Chelsea in 2019.

With that in mind, reports from the Daily Mirror have noted that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Musiala. As he scored two goals for Germany already at Euro 2024, it's fair to say assume they will have been pleased by his performances with it entirely possible a move will be attempted following the tournament's conclusion.

Elsewhere, with Slot undoubtedly looking for great market opportunities, Liverpool have enquired over the possibility of a free transfer for Adrien Rabiot, according to Sportitalia. The France international sees his contract at Juventus expire this summer with no current indication he will sign a new deal.

Rabiot has been close to a Premier League move on a number of occasions with Manchester United turning down the chance to sign him on two separate occasions. However, the Reds may see it as a great chance to sign an established player with it likely he will accept the move given his past comments on Liverpool.

Speaking back in June 2023, he said: “I loved Liverpool a lot because I was a bit fan of Steven Gerrard, who made me dream… and so therefore I followed the Reds."
