Liverpool vs Napoli LIVE: Confirmed team news and Uefa Champions League commentary

Liverpool vs Napoli
Champions League 2018-19
Venue: Anfield
Kick-off: 8pm

Liverpool go into the final match of the group stages knowing that their fate is entirely in their own hands tonight.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will secure their place in the knock-out stages of the Champions League by winning either 1-0 or by two-clear goals.

Any other result, even if Liverpool win, would see Napoli progress due to their superior head-to-head record in the group.

Team News

Dejan Lovren is back in contention for Liverpool’s crunch clash with Napoli after overcoming concussion.

The Croatian has missed the Reds’ last three outings after a clash of heads at Melwood but returned to training on the eve of tonight’s fixture to put himself in the frame for a comeback.

His availability comes as a welcome boost in the absence of Joe Gomez through a leg fracture.

Adam Lallana is also ready to feature despite needing stitches on a cut to the head picked up during his weekend cameo at Bournemouth.

Dominic Solanke and Nathaniel Clyne remain doubts after minor recent injury concerns, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster continue their recovery from long-term issues.

Head to Head

Liverpool and Napoli have meet on four previous occasions.

Their last meeting, Napoli’s 1-0 win in Italy back in October, was the Italian’s first victory over Liverpool.

The Reds defeated Napoli 5-0 in an International Champions Cup match last summer, and 3-1 in the Europa League back in 2010
