Local Elections 2024: Every candidate standing in the Watford and Three Rivers
Voters across Three Rivers and Watford go to the polls on Thursday, May 2. Ballot boxes will be open in every ward across the two Hertfordshire districts between 7am and 10pm.
The poll takes place on the same day as other major elections in the region. Hertfordshire’s voters will elect a new police and crime commissioner (PCC), who will be tasked with planning county crime prevention strategies, balancing the police’s budget, and joining up crime prevention partners. It is one of 37 PCC elections due to take place throughout England and Wales.
In the capital nearby, Londoners will elect a mayor. The Mayor of London is responsible for TfL tube, train and bus routes in south-west Hertfordshire. The office holder will have a range of other responsibilities, including capital city masterplanning and Metropolitan Police governance.
