Locals Survey Damage After Deadly Flooding in Indonesia

The Indonesian government was preparing for mass burials in mid-March following flash floods and landslides in Papua province that officials said killed at least 104 people.

The country’s disaster management agency also said on March 20 that 160 people were injured and 79 were missing.

Torrential rain triggered flooding on March 16, affecting the districts of Sentani, Waibu, West Sentani, Ravenirara and Depapre.
