London Bridge terror attack: Innocent bystander shot in the head 'is an American citizen'
The innocent bystander shot in the head by a stray police bullet during the London Bridge terror attack is an American, according to a report.
A witness from the scene of Saturday night’s atrocity told NBC News that the man who was hit was a US citizen.
The man was standing near a window inside the Wheatsheaf pub in Borough Market, where at least one of the three terrorists was shot dead by police.
Even though he was shot in the head, he is expected to survive from his injuries.

Seven people were killed and 48 injured after three attackers drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before moving on to stabbing people in nearby Borough Market.
Fabio Lamas, 20, who works at the Wheatsheaf, told NBC he saw ‘three guys who were carrying knives and wearing body armour’.
He said: ‘I got people to start evacuating inside from our little garden that we have… and got people to come into the bar and to go into toilets, hide under tables and hide in our cellar where we keep all our stock.
‘Then I heard shooting and I saw an American guy get shot in the head.’
Mr Lamas said the man who was shot was with two friends who said they American doctors living in London.
He said the men told him they were from either New Jersey or New York.
The man who was shot was conscious but his friends were in shock, Mr Lamas said.
‘He was bleeding through his eye,’ he added. ‘I went to get the first-aid kit and I started speaking to his friends and to try and calm them down.’
He said that before the shots were fired, he heard someone shout, ‘knives, knives, knives’, and a beer barrel was used to block the door from the inside, while staff locked doors and gates.
On Sunday, police confirmed that a member of the public suffered gunshot wounds as the officers confronted the terrorists.
