Loose Women presenter thanks fans for support as things get 'worse' in health update

Loose Women presenter Brenda Edwards has issued a health update after sparking concern on the ITV daytime programme. The 55-year-old appeared on the show alongside co-stars Charlene White, Coleen Nolan, and Judi Love on Monday wearing an eye patch.

At the time Brenda told viewers: "I’ve just got an allergic reaction to something, you know hay fever sufferers, so I’m wearing a patch and it’s fine. I’m trying not to get any more dust particles in it."

However, after wearing the eye patch again on Tuesday, May 14, Brenda revealed it had "worsened" overnight and that she was heading to the eye hospital for some answers. Appearing in a video that was posted to her Instagram account Brenda thanked her followers for their well wishes and provided and update.

She said: "Hi guys, it's day two of Loose Women, I just wanted to say thank you for the messages of support for my eye infection.

"It's got a bit worse today, I was hoping it would get better when I went to bed last night and woke up but it's got a little bit worse today so I am going to be going to the eye hospital to see if they can figure out what's going on."

Lifting her eye patch, Brenda added: "But in the meantime, I just wanted to say peekaboo, I'm fine."

Brenda captioned the video with a message that read: "Eye update! Thanks for all the love, everyone. I've got some antibiotics and eye cream now so should be on the mend."

Brenda was once again flooded with support as one social media follower wrote: "Oh bless you!! I hope it’s sorted soon lovely," while another added: "Brenda I hope the eye hospital can help you to feel better. Also they can give you a reason why this happened speedy recovery to you."

A third commented: "Aaaaw definitely one for the eye hospital. Better to be safe. Praying that your eye will be healed sooner than you could ever imagine," and a fourth said: "Hope your eye gets better soon Brenda sending you lots of love and hugs."
