Lord Alan Sugar's private jet forced to make emergency landing at 41,000 feet

Lord Alan Sugar has revealed that he suffered a mid-air emergency earlier today, with the business tycoon stranded in America after his private jet came into trouble at 41,000 feet.

The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing as Sugar attempted to return from the United States, with the Apprentice star borrowing the jet to fly to London.

Instead, Sugar was abandoned in Connecticut, where he is waiting to be collected by another aircraft so that he can complete his journey.

Complaining about the incident on his popular Twitter page, the 70 year old wrote: “On my way back to London in a Legacy 650 (not my one, I did owner a favour, lent him my one – long story) anyway at 41,000 ft we dec[l]are a emergency and have to land.

“Now stuck in Connecticut waiting for a plane to get me home. The irony of doing a favour.”

Lord Sugar didn’t seem too concerned by the emergency and did not reveal any more information about what had happened in the air.

However, his followers were quick to lash out at the TV star’s “first world problem”, responding:
