Lorraine Kelly returned to screens after her two-week break and was quickly flooded with comments of congratulations. The presenter was seen for the first time on her self-titled ITV show on Monday (April 15) after revealing she's set to become a grandmother.

During her time off, Lorraine took to social media after her daughter Rosie revealed she was expecting her first child. The 29-year-old shared a photo of herself cradling a growing baby bump as she rocked black fitness wear, that exposed her blossoming stomach, as well as a matching cardigan.

Also in the glowing selfie, Rosie wore her brunette locks swept over to her side as she beamed for the camera. The mum-to-be also shared a photo of the baby scan which had been taken at 12 weeks which she had framed and placed next to a pair of baby slippers in the shape of two highland cows to help reveal the joyous news.

Sharing the post on Instagram, Rosie said: "We could not be more excited – you're already so loved little one." Over on her own Instagram feed, Lorraine, 63, shared Rosie's baby scan photo as she excitedly said: "THE most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It's the best news EVER!"

Now, returning to her show, Lorraine was quickly congratulated by Dr Hilary on their family's exciting news. "I think congratulations are in order aren't they grandma?" Dr Hilary said. "It's not about me!" Lorraine replied before joking: "It is."

Dr Hilary then handed over a mug with the word "granny" printed on it, with Lorraine suggesting that the show was now being renamed. Lorraine then explained that her husband Steve Smith told her that she shouldn't "interfere" too much once Rosie gives birth.

Is is then when the Scottish star confessed: "How hard is that going to be not to interfere?" Dr Hilary agreed, pointing out that Lorraine has a "degree of knowledge" on the subject. But the ITV star wasn't sure as she responded: "No I don't know about that though because things have changed so much!"

Gushing over Rosie's pregnancy, Lorraine added: "We're just so thrilled. It's the best and most exciting thing that has happened to our family. It's just great!"
